Job summary

SSAFA seeks Welfare Officers to provide confidential welfare support to RAF personnel and their families across the UK. You will assist with mental health, relationships, financial concerns, housing and more, developing personalised interventions.

The role involves engaging with communities, delivering presentations, and working with RAF welfare teams and partners to achieve the best service user outcomes. A flexible, proactive communicator is essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience of supporting adults, families and children/young people.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to present with confidence.
• Flexible and creative approach to problem solving.
• Experience in welfare or social support services is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide welfare support to RAF personnel and their immediate families.
• Develop and implement interventions to support service users’ outcomes.
• Deliver presentations and represent the service at public engagement events.
• Collaborate with RAF welfare teams, local authorities and partner organisations.
