Job summary

SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity, is seeking Welfare Officers to provide direct welfare support to RAF personnel and their families. You will assist service users with challenges such as mental ill-health, relationships, housing, finances, and resettlement, delivering confidential, person-centred interventions.

The role includes engaging communities, delivering presentations, and working with RAF welfare teams, local authorities, and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting adults, families and children/young people.
• Ability to plan and manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Comfort delivering presentations and engaging diverse audiences.
• Willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct welfare support to RAF personnel and their families.
• Engage service users to develop appropriate interventions for outcomes.
• Promote the service and represent SSAFA at community events.
• Collaborate with RAF teams and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
