Job description

PLEASE NOTE - Interviews are taking place between on 28th May 2025 AM ONLY

As a Military Stores Clerk at Merville Barracks, Circular Road South, Colchester, your role is pivotal to ensuring the smooth and effective operation of our facilities management. You will support our team and deliver excellent service to colleagues and clients. This position is essential for maintaining our daily operations and contributing to our success.

What you'll do:

  • Provide clerical support to the Supply Manager and department personnel.
  • Use the MODNET IT system for processing orders and maintaining records.
  • Amend and file authoritative publications.
  • Manage the Unit Stationery account.
  • Handle official mail, including receipt, packaging, and distribution.
  • Report priority faults promptly as the point of contact.
  • Process course applications for authorized personnel.
  • Maintain and prepare Supply Chain and Safety, Health, Environmental & Fire documentation for audits.
  • Record and report accidents/incidents to the casualty notification cell.
  • Provide business continuity support in the absence of the Supply Manager and team.
  • Produce sensitive written work on behalf of the Supply Manager.
  • Monitor medical supplies and equipment for expiration or usability.
  • Order replacements via MJDI / CP&F systems as needed.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and logistics to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Keep accurate inventory records of medical items.
  • Conduct monthly assurance checks on medical AinU’s.
  • Perform any other tasks as directed by the Supply Manager.
  • This role requires Security Check (SC) Clearance, secured after a successful interview.

What you bring:

  • IT skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.
  • Experience in inventory or stock control roles.
  • Strong organizational skills and task prioritization.
  • Effective communication with military personnel of all ranks.
