Job Opportunity: Military Stores Clerk

Location: Merville Barracks, Circular Road South, Colchester, CO2 7UT

Working Hours: 37 hours per week

Additional Perks: Free Car parking

Important: Interviews will be held on 28th May 2025 AM only.

Job Introduction

As a Military Stores Clerk, your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities management at Merville Barracks. You will support our team and help deliver excellent service to colleagues and clients, maintaining uninterrupted daily operations.

What you'll do
  1. Provide clerical support to the Supply Manager and department personnel.
  2. Use the MODNET system for processing orders and record-keeping.
  3. Manage and file authoritative publications.
  4. Control the Unit Stationery account.
  5. Handle official mail receipt, packaging, and distribution.
  6. Report priority faults promptly as the main contact.
  7. Process course applications for authorized personnel.
  8. Maintain and prepare Supply Chain and Safety, Health, Environmental & Fire documentation for audits.
  9. Report accidents/incidents to the casualty notification cell.
  10. Support business continuity in the absence of the Supply Manager and team.
  11. Create sensitive written reports on behalf of the Supply Manager.
  12. Monitor medical supplies for expiration dates or usability.
  13. Order replacements via MJDI, CP&F systems when necessary.
  14. Coordinate deliveries with suppliers and logistics teams.
  15. Keep accurate inventory records for medical items.
  16. Conduct monthly assurance checks on medical equipment.
  17. Perform any other tasks assigned by the Supply Manager.
  18. This role requires Security Check (SC) Clearance, secured after a successful interview.
What you bring
  • IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and inventory systems.
  • Experience in inventory or stock control roles.
  • Excellent organizational skills and task prioritization.
  • Effective communication with military personnel of all ranks.
