Careers Jaguar Land Rover is seeking an experienced Welding Process Engineer to drive the development and optimisation of welding processes for battery, EDU, and sub-assembly manufacturing at our Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre. You will lead root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions to improve quality and repeatability.

You will create and maintain welding standards, procedures and validation plans to support new product introduction and production, and contribute to weld

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Materials Science or a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Professional welding qualifications advantageous.
• Knowledge of PFMEA, control plans and ISO/industry compliance frameworks is desirable.

• Developing and optimising welding processes across battery, EDU and sub-assembly manufacturing to ensure quality and repeatability
• Leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to resolve welding-related issues and drive continuous improvement
• Creating and maintaining welding standards, procedures and validation plans to support new product introduction and production
• Supporting weld inspection strategies, including destructive and non-destructive testing, ensuring compliance and product integrity
• Collaborating across engineering, operations and quality teams to deliver robust, high-performing manufacturing solutions
  Along with your ambition to push boundaries and embrace change, there are several skills and experiences you'll need to succeed here, including:
• Demonstrating strong expertise in welding processes such as MIG, TIG, resistance spot and laser welding within a manufacturing environment
• Applying knowledge of automated and robotic welding systems and understanding of welding metallurgy, defects and inspection methods
• Understanding quality tools and standards such as PFMEA, control plans and relevant ISO or industry compliance frameworks
• Interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T and CAD data to support process development and validation
• Holding a degree in Engineering, Materials Science or a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience, with professional welding qualifications advantageous
