Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Derby seeks an experienced MIG Welder for permanent, full-time employment in a busy heavy engineering workshop. You will weld heavy steel components, refurbish rail wagons and fabricate critical parts from drawings, ensuring high-quality workmanship and safety.

The role offers a standard 39–45 hour week with overtime rates and potential UK-wide site work. Applicants should have proven MIG welding experience in heavy fabrication or rail environments and be capable of working

Qualifications

• Proven MIG welding experience
• Experience with heavy fabrication or rail-related projects
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Commitment to quality, safety and workmanship

Responsibilities

• MIG welding on heavy steel components and structural fabrications.
• Repairing and refurbishing rail wagons and related assemblies.
• Fabricating and repairing wagon components and heavy steel assemblies.
• Working from engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Preparing, cutting, welding and finishing metal components.
• Carrying out high-quality weld repairs to meet standards.
• Using workshop fabrication equipment, hand tools and power tools.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety.
• Occasionally supporting site-based welding projects.
