Interaction Engineering in Northampton is seeking a skilled MIG Welder/Fabricator to join their growing team, delivering precision fabrication of structural steel for commercial and industrial projects.

You will read detailed drawings, weld to high standards, operate fabrication equipment, and work both independently and with colleagues to meet tight deadlines. A solid track record in welding and safety awareness is essential.

Qualifications

• MIG welding and structural steel fabrication experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Proficient with fabrication tools such as grinders, saws and drills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship.
• NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality MIG welding on structural steel components.
• Interpret fabrication drawings and work from them accurately.
• Measure, cut, assemble and prepare steel using fabrication machinery.
• Maintain quality, safety and compliance standards at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute high‑quality MIG welding on structural steel components
• Interpret and work from detailed fabrication and engineering drawings
• Measure, cut, assemble, and prepare steel using a variety of fabrication machinery
• Maintain strict adherence to quality, safety, and compliance standards
• Work efficiently both independently and within a team to achieve project deadlines

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrable experience in MIG welding and structural steel fabrication
• Confident in reading and interpreting technical drawings
• Competent with fabrication tools and equipment, including grinders, saws, and drills
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering outstanding workmanship
• Relevant qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) advantageous
• CSCS card beneficial but not essential
• Reliable, punctual, and dedicated to maintaining a safe working environment
