Job summary

Interaction Engineering in St Neots is seeking an experienced Welder Fabricator to support production of heavy‑duty steel fabrications and bespoke equipment for civil projects. This hands‑on role operates in a busy workshop, producing high‑strength components used in demanding site environments.

You will read technical drawings and weld/ fabricate accurately to engineering standards, using MIG, TIG, and MMA processes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Welder Fabricator in structural steel or heavy engineering.
• Ability to weld to precise engineering standards from technical drawings.
• Coded welding qualifications desirable but not essential.
• Experience with heavy‑gauge steel and large assemblies.
• Strong safety awareness and compliance with workshop procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG-TIG and MMA welding on structural and heavy‑gauge steel.
• Fabricate bespoke frames, brackets, piling equipment, and large steel assemblies.
• Read and interpret detailed fabrication drawings and schematics.
• Operate workshop machinery including presses, saws, burners, and bending equipment.
• Carry out grinding, drilling, cutting, and finishing tasks as required.
• Ensure welds meet the required strength, penetration, and quality specifications.
• Support workshop organisation, housekeeping, and equipment upkeep.
• Work efficiently to meet production deadlines without compromising quality.
