Job summary

Masstemps Ltd. is recruiting an experienced MIG Welder for a busy manufacturing operation near the Telford area. You will weld and fabricate mild steel components to customer specifications and read engineering drawings to ensure accurate results.

Daily duties include marking out, cutting and preparing parts, assembling components before welding, and inspecting welds for quality. Safe, efficient work and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as MIG welder or similar fabrication role.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Capable of measuring, marking out and assembling components prior to welding.
• Proficient with grinders, drills and saws and other fabrication tools.

Responsibilities

• MIG welding and fabrication of mild steel components and assemblies.

Masstemps is currently recruiting for an experienced

MIG Welder to join a well-established and busy manufacturing company based near the

Telford area.

THE JOB

• MIG welding and fabrication of mild steel components and assemblies.
• Fabricating bespoke and batch-produced steel products to customer specifications.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and welding specifications.
• Measuring, marking out, cutting and preparing steel components for fabrication.
• Assembling and positioning components prior to welding.
• Carrying out MIG welding to produce clean, strong and accurate welds.
• Working with different thicknesses and sizes of mild steel.
• Using hand and power tools including grinders, drills, saws and other fabrication equipment.
• Checking dimensions and ensuring fabricated components are produced accurately.
• Inspecting completed welds and fabrications to ensure they meet the required quality standards.
• Grinding, fettling and finishing welds where required.
• Working safely and maintaining a clean and organised work area.

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience as a MIG Welder or similar fabrication role.
• Strong MIG welding and ideally have fabrication experience, particularly working with mild steel.
• Able to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Confident measuring, marking out and assembling components prior to welding.
• Experience using fabrication tools and machinery, including grinders, drills and saws.
• Able to produce good-quality welds with a neat finish.
• Good understanding of fabrication processes and working with different steel thicknesses.
• Good attention to detail and able to work accurately to customer specifications.
• Previous experience working on bespoke, one-off or low-volume fabrication would be advantageous.
• Reliable, practical and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Monday to Thursday - 18:00pm - 06:00am (Nights)

Monday to Thursday - 06:00am - 18:00pm (Days)

Alternatively,

Monday to Thursday - 07:00am-16:00pm

Friday 13:00pm
