Job summary

Masstemps Ltd in the Telford area is seeking an experienced MIG Fabricator Welder to join a busy manufacturing team. You will weld and fabricate mild steel components, reading drawings and welding specs to produce reliable, high-quality assemblies.

You will work Monday to Friday 7:30am–4:00pm, with a focus on accuracy, finishing welds neatly, and working both independently and as part of a team to meet customer specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience as MIG Welder or similar fabrication role.
• Strong MIG welding skills with mild steel.
• Able to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Capable of measuring, marking out and assembling components before welding.
• Experience with grinders, drills and saws.
• Able to produce neat, high-quality welds.
• Good attention to detail and able to work to customer specs.
• Experience with bespoke or low-volume fabrication is advantageous.
• Reliable, practical and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• MIG welding and fabrication of mild steel components and assemblies.
• Fabricating bespoke and batch-produced steel products to customer specifications.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and welding specifications.
• Measuring, marking out, cutting and preparing steel components for fabrication.
• Assembling and positioning components prior to welding.
• Carrying out MIG welding to produce clean, strong and accurate welds.
• Working with different thicknesses and sizes of mild steel.
• Using hand and power tools including grinders, drills, saws and other fabrication equipment.
• Checking dimensions and ensuring fabricated components are produced accurately.
• Grinding, fettling and finishing welds where required.
