Job summary

Masstemps is seeking an experienced MIG Fabricator Welder to join its busy manufacturing team near Wolverhampton. You will weld and fabricate mild steel components, interpreting engineering drawings and welding specifications to produce accurate assemblies.

You will fabricate bespoke and batch-produced steel products to customer specs, measure and mark out, prepare and weld, using grinders and drills to finish with a neat, high-quality weld.

Qualifications

• Experience as a MIG welder or similar fabrication role.
• Able to read engineering drawings and welding specifications.
• Experience with reading measurements and marking out components.
• Proficient in fabricating from mild steel and working to customer specs.
• Capable of producing clean, neat welds with good finish.
• Reliable, independent worker who collaborates in a team.

THE JOB

ABOUT YOU

• Previous experience as a MIG Welder or similar fabrication role.
• Strong MIG welding and ideally have fabrication experience, particularly working with mild steel.
• Able to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Confident measuring, marking out and assembling components prior to welding.
• Experience using fabrication tools and machinery, including grinders, drills and saws.
• Able to produce good-quality welds with a neat finish.
• Good understanding of fabrication processes and working with different steel thicknesses.
• Good attention to detail and able to work accurately to customer specifications.
• Previous experience working on bespoke, one-off or low-volume fabrication would be advantageous.
• Reliable, practical and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
