Job summary

ASL Recruitment Ltd currently looks to place a MIG Welder in Bodiam, East Sussex for a temporary role. The successful candidate will weld per drawings and specifications, using MIG on mild steel, and will require own transport due to site location.

Typical duties include interpreting drawings, setting up equipment, inspecting welds, and maintaining quality standards in line with ISO9001/BSEN1090 QMS. The position may become permanent for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Driving Licence and own transport.
• Experience with MIG welding, preferably on mild steel.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work in a temporary assignment in Bodiam.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate all drawings and ensure implementation according to welding specifications.
• Perform all welding work with the help of forming and cutting equipment.
• Provide assistance to production processes and mould various fixtures.
• Perform efficient welding of various metal objects.
• Analyse diagrams and specifications and cut all metal accordingly.
• Evaluate finished products and perform quality checks on products.
• Follow all processes and procedures contained within the company’s ISO9001/BSEN1090 QMS

Job description

Our client is an established engineering company based in Hastings and Battle, providing a wide range of welding, fabrication and control systems to commercial and domestic clients. Our client is currently looking for a MIG Welder to join their busy and friendly team on a temporary basis in Bodiam, East Sussex.

Due to the location of the vacancy, you must have a valid Driving Licence and your own transport.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities:

• Demonstrable experience using Metal Inert Gas (MIG)
• Experience of working with mild steel
• Solid understanding of mathematics
• Understanding of measuring tools such as callipers, rules, feeler gauges, and pi tapes
• Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Be polite, informative and have a professional attitude towards customers and co-workers
• Must be a multi-tasking team player
• Valid Driving Licence and own transport are essential

Your duties as a MIG Welder will include:

Salary:

• Competitive Hourly Rate

Hours:

• Monday - Friday, 6am - 2pm
• Temporary (Potential to become permanent)
