Job summary

The JobsBoard in Stockport is seeking an experienced MIG Welder with Aluminium experience to join a leading defence manufacturer.

You will weld to engineering drawings and welding specifications, prepare and finish components, and ensure quality across production documentation. This on-site role follows a Monday–Thursday schedule with a half-day on Friday, offering steady shifts in a defence engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Aluminium MIG welding experience in manufacturing or fabrication.
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
• Solid understanding of welding processes and quality standards.
• Welding qualifications or certifications are advantageous.
• Experience in heavy engineering or defence sectors is beneficial.

Responsibilities

About the Role

An excellent opportunity for an experienced MIG Welder with Aluminium experience to join a leading defence manufacturer in Stockport, working on the assembly of complex military engineering systems. You will produce high-quality welded assemblies in line with engineering drawings, welding specifications and required quality standards.

Responsibilities

• MIG weld aluminium components and assemblies to required standards
• Work from engineering drawings, work instructions and welding specifications
• Prepare, weld, dress and finish components
• Inspect completed welds for quality and dimensional accuracy
• Identify and correct welding defects
• Complete relevant production and quality documentation

About You

• Aluminium MIG welding experience within manufacturing or fabrication
• Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
• Good understanding of welding processes and quality standards
• Relevant welding qualifications or certifications advantageous
• Heavy engineering or defence experience beneficial

Hours

Monday to Thursday 07:00-15:30, Friday 07:00-12:00 (half-day Friday).
