Job summary

Masstemps Ltd is seeking a skilled MIG Structural Welder to join our fabrication team. You will weld structural steel components to engineering drawings, using established procedures and quality standards.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, setting up welding equipment, welding in various positions, and finishing and inspecting parts to ensure they meet specifications. Must maintain safe working practices in a fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• Proven MIG/MAG structural welding experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of welding parameters and consumables.
• Experience with carbon/structural steel.
• Ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds.
• Strong workshop safety knowledge.

Responsibilities

• MIG/MAG weld structural steel components per procedures.
• Read and interpret drawings, symbols and specs.
• Set up machines, select wire, gas, voltage and amperage.
• Weld in various positions and thicknesses.
• Finish welds and inspect finished components against drawings.
• Identify and rectify welding defects when needed.
