Job summary

Pertemps Bond is seeking an experienced MIG/Spot Welder to join our busy structural steelwork manufacturing team in the East Midlands. You will weld and assemble components to engineering drawings, using MIG welding and spot welds, in a hands-on role that requires accuracy and physical work.

The role involves reading drawings, preparing and securing parts, maintaining quality and safety, and working to production targets.

Qualifications

• Experience in MIG welding, fabrication or structural steelwork.
• Able to read engineering drawings.
• Able to work with varying sizes/thicknesses of steel.

Responsibilities

• MIG welding structural steel components (largely mild steel).
• Spot welding and tack welding assemblies.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Preparing, positioning and securing components prior to welding.
• Checking dimensions and weld quality throughout production.
• Working with various sizes and thicknesses of structural steel.
• Grinding, finishing and preparing welded components where required.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working area.
• Working to production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
