Job summary

Masstemps in the West Midlands area is seeking an experienced MIG Fabricator Welder to join a busy manufacturing team near Wednesbury. You will fabricate heavy structural steelwork to drawings and welding symbols, ensuring tight tolerances and safe operation of lifting equipment.

Applicants should read drawings confidently, have MIG/MAG welding experience, and be able to work to deadlines. Coded welds are preferred but coding can be provided if not current.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Plater/Fabricator in heavy structural steel.
• Strong MIG/MAG welding experience preferred.
• Able to read structural drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience marking out, cutting, drilling and assembling structural steel.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate heavy structural steelwork to drawings and specs.
• Interpret structural drawings and welding symbols.
• Measure, mark out, cut, drill and fit steel sections.
• Weld MIG/MAG to required standards.
• Move and position heavy sections with cranes.
• Maintain workmanship and meet production deadlines.
