Direct Recruitment (Midlands) Ltd seeks an experienced MIG Site Welder to join a busy on-site fabrication team. You will read engineering drawings and produce high-quality welds to required standards.

The role includes on-site MIG welding, fabrication and installation of structural steel, reading drawings, measuring and preparing materials, and collaborating with site supervisors. Immediate start with regular hours and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• MIG welding experience essential.
• Site welding experience preferred.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Fabrication and measuring skills.
• Competent with hand and power tools.
• Relevant welding qualifications advantageous.
• Reliable, punctual and a team player.
• Full UK driving licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Weld on site using MIG processes.
• Fabricate and install structural and general steelwork.
• Weld mild steel to specification.
• Read and work from engineering drawings.
• Measure, cut and prepare materials.
• Use grinders and related fabrication tools.
• Carry out repairs and modifications as required.
• Follow site health and safety procedures.

Job description

MIG Site Welder

We are currently recruiting for an experienced MIG Site Welder to join a busy and established team working on site-based fabrication and welding projects.

This role would suit a skilled welder who is confident working independently on site, reading drawings, and producing high-quality welds to the required standard.

Duties will include:

• MIG welding on site
• Fabrication and installation of structural and general steelwork
• Welding mild steel to specification
• Reading and working from engineering drawings
• Measuring, cutting and preparing materials
• Using grinders and other associated fabrication tools
• Carrying out repairs and modifications where required
• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and to a high standard
• Following site health and safety procedures at all times
• Working closely with site supervisors and other trades

Requirements:

• Previous MIG welding experience is essential
• Previous site welding experience preferred
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
• Good fabrication and measuring skills
• Competent using hand and power tools
• Relevant welding qualifications advantageous
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence desirable
