Job description

About the role

In your role as Middle Office Analyst you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset. This role will provide a great opportunity to provide exposure to our end-to-end process of Public Markets Operations working closely with the front office teams and support areas in performing day to day tasks & delivering business readiness for new initiatives impacting the Operations team.

The role is within the Public Markets – Middle Office team and is responsible for the day-to-day core trading support of the scheme & all aspects of a Middle Office function. The scheme invests in a broad range of assets and a flexible can-do attitude is required.

What you will be doing

As a trusted part of the Operations you will be responsible for:

  • Performing trade/OTC support duties on all aspects of public markets assets
  • Liaising with the Third-party providers for core middle office services (JP Morgan) & clearing brokers
  • Interacting with trading desks to ensure a smooth middle office support model
  • Identifying & delivering improvements to day-to-day processes
  • Building strong relationships with USS colleagues
  • Developing close working relationships with third party service partners & trading desks
  • Looking for training opportunities to enhance skills
  • Improving personal skill matrix score each year

About you

  • Business/ Operational experience of working with a range of assets & awareness of investment products
  • Buy side or Outsourced Oversight experience preferred
  • Experience of Bloomberg AIM an advantage
  • Problem solving with independent thought
  • Ability to work independently
