Job summary

Lonsdale School is seeking a lunchtime supervisor to provide structured support to pupils during the lunchtime period. You will help prepare the dining area and ensure a safe, well-organised, and positive environment.

The role runs Monday to Thursday 12:00–2:00pm and Friday 11:30am–1:30pm; you will support pupils with personal care needs where appropriate, promote social and learning opportunities, and contribute to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the dining area and assist pupils during lunch.
• Provide individual support in line with training and school procedures.
• Promote appropriate social and learning opportunities and supervise play activities.
• Maintain health and safety with a proactive approach and be flexible to additional duties as directed by the Headteacher.

Job description

This role provides structured support to pupils during the lunchtime period, ensuring a safe, well‑organised and positive environment.

The working hours are Monday to Thursday 12.00 - 2.00pm and Friday 11.30am - 1.30pm.

Key responsibilities include preparing the dining area, offering individual support in line with training and school procedures, and meeting pupils’ personal care needs. The postholder will promote appropriate social and learning opportunities and support purposeful play activities. A consistent and proactive approach to health and safety is essential, along with the flexibility to undertake additional reasonable duties as directed by the Headteacher.
