Job summary

Shenstone School is seeking enthusiastic lunchtime Supervisors to support pupils, including those with SEND, during midday breaks. You will supervise, assist with meals, and help with activities to promote wellbeing and progress.

Candidates should be confident, resilient, and capable of engaging pupils with challenging behaviour, using various techniques to motivate and protect safety and welfare.

Qualifications

• Confidence and resilience in working with pupils with challenging behaviour.
• Ability to support and encourage SEND pupils to achieve their potential.
• Willingness to initiate and participate in games/activities and lunchtime routines.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunchtime and assist with lunch arrangements.
• Help with cutting up/feeding where necessary.
• Initiate and participate in games/activities to engage pupils.
• Assist with toileting/changing and monitor pupils' safety and wellbeing.
• Be flexible to work at multiple school sites as needed.

Job description

We are looking for enthusiastic, caring, engaging and reliable candidates to join our fantastic and dedicated midday team at Shenstone School. You will be required to supervise pupils during the lunchtime period with such things as: collecting/helping pupils choose their lunch, helping with cutting up/feeding where necessary, initiating and participating in games/activities, toileting/changing and being aware/protecting their safety and wellbeing.

It is paramount that you feel confident and resilient in working with pupils with challenging behaviour. As individuals, each pupil presents with different abilities and behavioural needs which vary from child to child.

You will use a variety of different techniques to motivate, engage and encourage the pupils to achieve their greatest possible outcomes. You will also be required to initiate and participate in games/activities, toilet/change where necessary and protect pupils safety and wellbeing.

There are Permanent and relief positions available. (Please specify on your application form which contract type you are applying for).

The Permanent position salary is £6,851 per annum (pro rata'd), and the Relief/Causal Hourly Rate is £15.75 per hour.

Please note, you may be required to work at our Secondary School at Halt Robin Road, Belvedere, Kent, DA17 6DW, and at our Primary Schools at 94 Old Road, Crayford, Kent, DA1 4DZ andSt Andrews Road, Sidcup, Kent, DA14 4RX. Please be aware that although you are normally assigned to one site, you may be asked to work at any of our sites. This ultimately depends on where vacancies occur and operational feasibility.
