Job summary

Olney Infant Academy invites applications for two Midday Supervisors to join our friendly team. This part-time role runs 3 hours per week (11:45am–1:15pm) on Thursday and Friday, supporting pupils at lunch and during play.

You will supervise activities, promote safety and healthy eating, assist with equipment, and help with First Aid when needed. Training will be provided where required. We value empathy, flexibility, patience and a sense of humour to create a happy lunchtime environment.

Qualifications

  • First Aid training is required.
  • Friendly disposition with empathy for children's needs.
  • Flexible and hardworking with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise activities and ensure health, safety, welfare and safeguarding during midday break.
  • Assist in supervising other activities during lunchtime and help set out/store equipment.
  • Encourage pupils to eat healthy meals and engage with them during play.
  • Clean up spillages and wipe tables between meals in dining areas.
  • Report incidents per school policy and assist with basic First Aid when needed.

We are seeking to appoint 2 Midday Supervisors at Olney Infant Academy. The role of the Midday Supervisor is rewarding and varied. It will include some of the following:

  • Supervise activities and maintain the health, safety, welfare, good conduct and safeguarding of pupils during the midday break, having regard to special or additional needs.
  • Assist in the supervision of other activities during the midday break, including setting out and storing equipment
  • Encourage pupils to eat healthy meals.
  • Supervising play and engaging with children in their play.
  • Clean up spillages of food or liquid during meal service
  • Wipe down tables and clean dining areas between meals
  • Report incidents in line with school policy
  • First Aid (training will be provided but is required)

This role should make lunchtime a particularly happy one for children, providing a safe and caring environment for all and ensuring all activities are fun. The successful candidate will have a friendly disposition with empathy for individual children’s needs and be hardworking, flexible, have a positive attitude and a sense of humour.
