Job summary

Red Oak Primary School in Lowestoft is seeking three Midday Supervisors to join our team. This part-time, permanent role supports pupils during lunch and breaks, promotes positive behaviour and wellbeing, and helps create a safe and enjoyable environment for all.

Coast and Vale Learning Trust is the employer for this position. You will supervise, monitor welfare, assist with lunchtime needs, oversee dining and playground areas, and communicate with staff.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupils during lunch and break times, promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe, orderly environment.
  • Monitor pupils' welfare, safety and safeguarding, responding appropriately to incidents or concerns.
  • Support children with practical lunchtime needs and help resolve minor disagreements.
  • Oversee playground and dining areas, including setting up, cleaning and storing equipment where required.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils and staff, reporting incidents and sharing relevant information.

Job description

Location: Red Oak Primary, Lowestoft, Suffolk
Contract: Part Time, Permanent
Working Pattern: 6.25 hours, term time only (38 weeks)
Salary: ALT Grade B £3,590.06 - £3,617.88 Annually Actual

We are looking for three Midday Supervisor's to join the team at Red Oak Primary School, a warm and welcoming primary school in Lowestoft where strong relationships and a caring community help children thrive. This is an important role at the heart of the school day, supporting pupils during lunchtime and break periods, encouraging positive behaviour, promoting wellbeing and helping to create a safe, enjoyable environment for all. We are seeking someone who is attentive, calm and approachable, with the ability to build positive rapport with children and work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure every pupil feels valued, supported and ready to learn.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupils during lunch and break times, promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe, orderly environment.
  • Monitor pupils' welfare, safety and safeguarding, responding appropriately to incidents or concerns.
  • Support children with practical lunchtime needs and help resolve minor disagreements.
