Job summary

Meon Junior School in Portsmouth is seeking a Midday Meals Supervisor to supervise children during lunch, promote positive behaviour, and support their wellbeing.

You will work as part of a friendly team, help with simple welfare tasks including first aid where trained, tidy dining areas, manage queues, support gentle play breaks, and take part in ongoing training to develop your skills.

Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Midday Meals Supervisor at Meon Junior School to stimulate and engage our children in exciting play and games at lunchtime whilst maintaining their safety. A willingness to work as part of a team and seek positive solutions is essential.

In this vital role, you will be at the heart of our school community, encouraging imaginative play, promoting positive behaviour, and ensuring the wellbeing of every child during their midday break.

• To be able to supervise pupils in the dining areas
• Ensure good standards of behaviour by the pupils; are maintained
• Assist with associated ancillary duties (e.g. cleaning up spillages, ensuring tables are clean, etc).
• Provide welfare support to the pupils of the school, including undertaking first aid duties (depending on training)
• Attend appropriate training sessions in order to increase knowledge and skills
