Job summary

Compass Eko Trust is seeking a motivated Midday Assistant to join the Cann Hall Primary School team. The role covers two hours per day, Monday to Friday, term-time only, within the lunchtime period. Start ASAP, with a view to settling into a supportive, safety-focused learning environment.

You will supervise pupils, promote positive play, and assist with basic first aid and record-keeping while working across Reception to Year 6. Competitive pay and generous development opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school lunchtime role is desirable.
• Ability to supervise pupils and promote positive behaviour.
• Willingness to liaise with staff and maintain basic records.

Responsibilities

• Supervise playground and dining hall during lunchtime.
• Promote 'Positive Play' and encourage pupil participation.
• Maintain order according to school policies and confidentiality.
• Administer basic first aid and report accidents.
• Assist with cleaning and setting up/putting away equipment.
• Support healthy eating and safety of pupils.
• Work with children from Reception to Year 6.
• Ensure safety and welfare of all pupils.

Salary: Scale 2 , Spine point 4-5, Actual Salary £5,879-£5,972 per annum

Location: Cann Hall Primary School

Contract type: Permanent, 38 weeks per year - term time only.

Hours: 10 hours per week, 2 hours per day.

This role is based at Cann Hall Primary School

We are looking for a motivated person to join our friendly Lunchtime Supervision team as a Midday Assistant for two hours each day, Monday to Friday (term time only) over the lunchtime period.

The role involves a variety of responsibilities which include:

• Playground supervision, dining hall duties and wet break supervision inclass
• Promoting 'Positive Play' ensuring productive lunchtime activities for pupils, including the ability to make suggestions and involve yourself in activities
• Ensuring that good order is maintained in accordance with Cann Hall's Positive Behaviour and Confidentiality Policies
• Administering basic first aid and keeping records of accidents, liaising with other staff as necessary
• Assisting with ancillary duties e.g. cleaning up spillages, wipingtables etc.
• Supporting healthy eating
• Supervising and supporting play activities and encouraging children to participate in lunchtime activities
• Flexibility to work with children from Reception to Year 6
• Ensuring the safety and welfare of all our pupils.
