Job summary

Silver End Academy in Essex is seeking a punctual and compassionate Midday Assistant to supervise pupils during lunch breaks. You will help prepare and clear the dining area, encourage good dining practices and provide safe, supportive supervision in the playground.

Training will be provided for basic medical care and safeguarding responsibilities. The role is part-time, 7.5 hours per week during term time (38 weeks per year), starting salary Scale 2, Point 4 (£4,259 per annum).

Qualifications

  • Flexible 'can-do' approach and good communication with children.
  • Excellent organisational skills and patience.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions.
  • Willingness to participate in safeguarding and training.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and clearing the dining hall.
  • Encouraging good dining room practices.
  • Provide playground supervision and support.
  • Provide basic medical care where necessary (training will be provided).
  • Encouraging group games and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children.

Salary Range - starting salary Scale 2, Point 4 - £4,259 per annum.

Part Time - 7.5 hours per week (11.45am - 1.15pm), term time only - 38 weeks per year.

Silver End Academy are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and motivated individual to join our friendly Midday Assistant team supervising pupils through their
lunch break.

Duties include:

  • Preparing and/or clearing the dining hall
  • Encouraging good dining room practices
  • Provide playground supervision and support
  • Provide basic medical care where necessary (training will be provided)
  • Encouraging group games
  • Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our children

You must have:

  • A flexible "can-do" approach
  • The ability to communicate with children
  • Good organisational skills
  • Patience and understanding
