Job summary

Waterloo Lodge School is seeking a caring Midday Assistant to join the team and help provide a safe, positive lunchtime experience for pupils aged 11 to 17. You will supervise lunchtime activities, support pupils, promote healthy eating and maintain hygiene standards.

The role involves working with staff to support pupils, fostering positive behaviour, and contributing to a nurturing school environment. GCSE Maths and English are required. DBS checks will be completed for successful applicants.

As a Midday Assistant, you'll help ensure children are well supported during lunch, encourage positive behaviour and good manners, and contribute to the welcoming and nurturing environment that makes our school a great place to learn and grow. What You'll Be Doing

  • Supervising pupils during lunchtime and ensuring their safety and wellbeing
  • Supporting children in the dining area and encouraging positive behaviour and table manners
  • Assisting with serving meals and promoting healthy eating habits
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety
  • Helping to create a calm, positive and inclusive lunchtime environment
  • Providing basic first aid support when required and reporting any incidents appropriately
  • Working closely with teaching staff and school leaders to support pupils' needs
  • Contributing positively to the wider school community and ethos

    Waterloo Lodge School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged 11 to 17, catering primarily for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), many of whom may also have additional complex needs. We support pupils from Lancashire and the surrounding areas.
