Job summary

Kingsland CofE Academy, part of the St Bart’s Multi Academy Trust, is seeking a highly motivated individual to monitor pupil behaviour during the midday break. You will work as part of a caring team to safeguard pupils and support healthy meal times within a welcoming church‑affiliated primary setting.

The role involves supervising activities, reporting incidents, assisting with meal service, and promoting welfare and wellbeing in line with academy protocols.

Qualifications

  • Experience supervising pupils during school breaks.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and school policies.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a supportive team.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupil activities during the midday break, ensuring health, safety and well‑being.
  • Report incidents in line with school policy.
  • Assist in supervision of other activities during the midday break and set out/store equipment.
  • Encourage healthy meals and assist with meal service cleanliness.
  • Clean up spillages and wipe down dining areas after meals.
  • Undertake similar duties before/after school as needed.
  • Promote safeguarding and welfare of children and raise concerns per academy protocol.
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to the post.

Job Purpose

To work as part of a team monitoring pupil behaviour during the midday break.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

1. Supervise activities and maintain the health, safety, welfare, good conduct and safeguarding ofpupils during the midday break, having regard to special or additional needs

2. Report incidents in line with school policy

3. Assist in the supervision of other activities during the midday break, including setting out and storingequipment

4. Encourage pupils to select and eat healthy balanced meals

5. Clean up spillages of food or liquid during meal service

6. Wipe down tables and clean dining areas between meals

7. Undertake similar work at other times, such as before and after school

8. Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within theacademy, raising any concerns following academy protocol/procedures

9. Any other duties appropriate to the post.
