Job summary

Space A in London is seeking a mid-weight Architectural Designer to join its interior architecture and design studio focused on high-end private residential projects. You will take ownership from concept through delivery, working directly with clients and a small studio team.

The role covers design development, technical detailing, client presentations and site coordination, with opportunities to shape the studio’s output and grow your skills in ArchiCAD, SketchUp and the Adobe Creative Suite.

Qualifications

• A degree in architecture or interior design.
• At least three years’ experience in residential or hospitality design.
• Client-facing with the confidence to drive projects independently.
• Proficient in ArchiCAD, SketchUp and the Adobe Creative Suite; Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead residential architectural and interior design projects from concept to completion.
• Develop design concepts, spatial layouts and detailed drawing packages.
• Produce CAD models and high-quality 3D renders to communicate design intent.
• Meet and present directly to clients; incorporate feedback.
• Take ownership daily, driving progress and keeping projects on programme.
• Source materials, finishes, furniture and suppliers; leverage industry contacts.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications and schedules to high detail.
• Coordinate with contractors, engineers and other consultants on site.

Space A is looking for a mid-weight architectural designer to join its team in London.

About us

Space A is a London-based interior architecture and design studio specialising in high-end private residential projects. We work closely with our clients from concept through to completion, creating considered, beautifully detailed homes that balance creativity with practicality. As our studio grows, we’re looking for a talented mid-weight Architectural Designer to join our collaborative team and take ownership of projects from early design through to delivery.

The role

We’re looking for a mid-weight Interior Architect with a strong background in private residential design, who is confident working directly with clients and driving projects forward independently. You’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle – from concept design and client presentations through to technical detailing, specification and site coordination – and will play a key role in shaping the studio’s design output.

Key responsibilities:

• lead and manage residential architectural and interior design projects from concept through to completion, working closely with clients, contractors and consultants
• develop design concepts, spatial layouts and detailed drawing packages
• produce CAD models and high-quality 3D renders to communicate design intent to clients and the wider team
• meet and present directly to clients, confidently articulating design ideas and incorporating feedback
• take ownership of projects day-to-day, driving progress independently and keeping projects on programme
• source and specify materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures and suppliers, drawing on strong industry contacts and product knowledge
• prepare technical drawings, specifications and schedules to a high standard of detail and accuracy
• coordinate with contractors, structural engineers and other consultants, including attending site visits and meetings
• contribute creative ideas and maintain a high design standard across the studio’s project portfolio

About you:

• a degree in architecture or interior design
• at least three years’ experience working in residential or hospitality design. This should exclude work experience or internships
• client-facing, with the confidence and ability to drive projects forward independently
• creative flair and a genuine passion for design and space
• a good knowledge of materials, finishes and suppliers
• working knowledge of ArchiCAD, SketchUp and the Adobe Creative Suite
• proficient in Excel
• a keen interest in AI
• confident producing visualisation to a professional standard
• excellent communication and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail
• a collaborative, can-do attitude and the ability to work well within a small studio team
