Job summary

Crown Oil is seeking a mid-level PHP Developer (Laravel) to join its in-house development team in the UK. You’ll own hands-on projects building and maintaining internal web applications and business tools in a collaborative, customer-facing environment.

You’ll develop with PHP/Laravel, optimise SQL queries, work with Vue.js (Vue 3) and the Composition API, Docker, GitHub Actions, GraphQL and PHPUnit tests, while liaising with non-technical stakeholders to translate requirements into robust

Qualifications

• Experience with PHP and Laravel in production environments.
• Proficient in writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
• Hands-on experience with Vue.js (Vue 3) and the Composition API.
• Familiar with Git, Docker, GitHub Actions and API integrations (GraphQL/REST).
• Experience writing and running PHPUnit tests and automated tests.

Job description

We're looking for a mid-level PHP Developer (Laravel) to join our in-house development team, working on business-critical internal web applications and systems. This is a hands-on development role with real ownership. You'll work closely with colleagues and internal stakeholders in a collaborative, customer-facing environment, helping translate business requirements into practical, well-built technical solutions.,

• Develop and maintain web applications using PHP and Laravel
• Build and enhance internal systems and business tools
• Write and optimise SQL queries against relational databases
• Support and improve live production systems
• Work within MVC architecture and clean coding principles
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver solutions
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes
• Support light frontend development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Vue.js
  Commercial experience with PHP
• Hands-on experience with Laravel
• Commercial experience using Vue 3 and the Composition API
• Experience using TypeScript
• Experience working with SQL databases
• Experience supporting production systems
• Understanding of MVC architecture
• Familiarity with Git and version control
• Comfortable working with APIs, including GraphQL
• Experience writing feature tests using PHPUnit
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders, REST API development or integration experience
• Exposure to automated testing beyond feature testing
• Frontend experience beyond the basics
• Experience working with existing or legacy systems
• Experience writing and maintaining Docker images
• Experience writing and maintaining GitHub Actions workflows
• Experience using agentic AI tools to support development workflows, Previous experience in simular role essential
