JobCubby is seeking a mid-level PHP Developer to join our in-house development team in Bury. You will build and maintain internal web applications using PHP and Laravel, and work closely with stakeholders to translate requirements into robust software.

This hands-on role offers ownership, flexible core hours, and a collaborative engineering environment as part of a growing UK group of businesses.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with PHP and Laravel.
• Hands-on Vue 3 with Composition API.
• Experience with TypeScript and SQL databases.
• MVC architecture understanding and Git version control.
• Experience writing PHPUnit tests.
• Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Flexible working: Core hours 9:30am-2:00pm, Monday-Friday

About the role

We're looking for a mid-level PHP Developer (Laravel) to join our in-house development team, working on business-critical internal web applications and systems.

This is a hands-on development role with real ownership. You'll work closely with colleagues and internal stakeholders in a collaborative, customer-facing environment, helping translate business requirements into practical, well-built technical solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using PHP and Laravel

Essential skills & experience

• Commercial experience with PHP
• Hands-on experience with Laravel
• Commercial experience using Vue 3 and the Composition API
• Experience using TypeScript
• Experience working with SQL databases
• Experience supporting production systems
• Understanding of MVC architecture
• Familiarity with Git and version control
• Comfortable working with APIs, including GraphQL
• Experience writing feature tests using PHPUnit
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with non-technical stakeholders

• REST API development or integration experience
• Exposure to automated testing beyond feature testing
• Frontend experience beyond the basics
