Job summary

CloudyIT is seeking a Microsoft 365 Security Engineer to strengthen security across Microsoft 365 for UK clients, with a focus on identity, devices and data protection. The role sits at the Buckingham office with flexible remote working.

You will assess configurations, implement security controls such as MFA and Conditional Access, and support secure device management with Intune, Defender and Purview. Collaboration with onboarding, migration and support teams will be essential for secure

Qualifications

• Practical experience in Microsoft 365 administration, security or similar technical role.
• Strong knowledge of Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online, Teams and SharePoint administration.
• Understanding of identity protection, access control, device compliance, email security and data protection principles.
• Evidence-based approach to investigation, change and documentation.
• Good judgement on escalation and next steps.
• Clear written and verbal communication in plain English.
• Organised, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks with deadlines.
• Willingness to learn and develop in Microsoft cloud security areas.
• Certifications such as SC-900/SC-300/MS-102/MD-102 or related security qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Review Microsoft 365 security configurations to identify risks and improvements.
• Configure and maintain identity and access controls, including MFA and Conditional Access.
• Support secure device management through Microsoft Intune and related services.
• Help protect email and data services using Microsoft security controls.
• Investigate security alerts and customer-reported concerns; escalate where needed.
• Maintain clear technical records of findings and actions for auditing.
