Job summary

Deerfoot IT Resources Limited is seeking a Microsoft 365 Messaging & Collaboration Engineer for a London-based hybrid contract. You will lead the engineering and evolution of Exchange Online and Teams, acting as a Tier 3 escalation point and working with architecture, security, and business stakeholders.

You will drive migrations, Defender for Office 365 integrations, and Purview implementation while mentoring engineers and driving Copilot adoption.

Qualifications

• 5+ years engineering Microsoft 365 messaging and collaboration platforms.
• Expert knowledge of Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams in enterprise environments.
• Microsoft Purview, Defender for Office 365 and enterprise email security (Proofpoint preferred).
• Exchange Hybrid and mail migrations, Entra ID and Conditional Access, Intune.
• PowerShell and Microsoft Graph automation.
• DNS, SMTP and certificate knowledge, and ITIL service management.
• Experience in global or multi-tenant, regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering, design and continual evolution of Exchange Online, Teams and wider Microsoft 365 collaboration services.
• Lead messaging migrations, tenant optimisation and transformation initiatives.
• Implement Defender for Office 365, Exchange Online Protection and Proofpoint integrations.
• Design Microsoft Purview capabilities including information protection, DLP, retention and eDiscovery.
• Maintain secure mail flow with SPF, DKIM and DMARC.
• Provide Tier 3 support and automating with PowerShell and Microsoft Graph.
• Drive adoption of Microsoft 365 Copilot and mentoring engineers.

Are you a Microsoft 365 messaging specialist who wants to be the technical authority for Exchange Online, Teams and the security that sits around them?

We're recruiting for a contract Messaging & Collaboration Engineer to join the client services team of a leading global financial services organisation. You'll lead the engineering and evolution of its Microsoft 365 messaging and collaboration platforms, acting as the Tier 3 escalation point and working closely with architecture, security, infrastructure and business stakeholders.
