York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Hull Microbiology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join a busy team. You will support Biomedical Scientists with diagnostic testing, specimen preparation, data entry, and a range of clerical duties in a modern Microbiology laboratory.

The role offers training, development, and a friendly team within the SHYPS network, with a requirement to participate in late shifts, weekends and bank holidays as rostered.

Responsabilidades

• Complies with good work practices per UKAS standards and training requirements
• Attend mandatory training and meetings
• Maintain good working relations and teamwork
• Participate in weekend/bank holiday rosters as required
• Perform work under Standard Operating Procedures
• Handle clinical samples safely (blood, urine, etc.) and prepare specimens
• Store samples and reagents appropriately and manage data entry
• Sort specimens and forms and raise any sample issues
• Carry out general housekeeping and maintain records
• Answer queries from service users and departments and follow confidentiality policies
• Use laboratory computer systems for data input and recall
