Job summary

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust's Microbiology Laboratory in Peterborough is seeking an Associate Practitioner to support diagnostic testing and molecular assays under supervision of registered Biomedical Scientists. The role involves handling samples, recording results, and contributing to an efficient Clinical Microbiology service.

You will work a 24/7 pattern, including one weekend every fourth, and participate in early/late/night shifts.

Responsibilities

• Assist Biomedical Scientists in providing an efficient and effective Clinical Microbiology service.
• Perform routine diagnostic laboratory tests after appropriate training and assessment and accurately recording and reporting results.
• Perform molecular testing and daily running of the molecular suite after training and assessment, recording and reporting results.
• Participate in training of other laboratory groups as appropriate.
• Work one day (or equivalent) every fourth weekend and participate in early, late and night shift rotas; may be required to cover shifts at short notice.
