Job summary

Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 4 Associate Practitioner in Microbiology for the Romford area. The role will involve rotating through the Microbiology laboratory across two sites, requiring flexibility to work at Queen’s Hospital Romford and King George Hospital Goodmayes.

Qualifications

• Science-based foundation degree or equivalent qualifications.
• Computer literacy and ability to follow procedures.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and participate in training.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through Microbiology sections, including bacteriology at Queens Hospital.
• Assist with entry of patient demographics and test information into the pathology system.
• Perform investigations on samples using manual and automated methods.
• Handle and dispose of patient samples and hazardous materials safely.
