The Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an energetic and well-motivated Administrative Support to join the Microbiology Department, based across the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and North Devon District Hospital.
You will provide essential admin support to Consultants, Biomedical Scientists and others, managing emails, calls and daily records in a busy diagnostic microbiology setting.
The Microbiology Department at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is based across two hospitals, the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital and North Devon District Hospital. It is part of the Pathology service providing a diagnostic Microbiology service to the Trust and community across Northern and Eastern Devon. Both sites offer an on-site restaurant and a choice of coffee/tea outlets. The laboratory has its own rest area within the department.
You will be providing administrative support to the busy Microbiology team, including Managers, Consultants, Seniors, Biomedical Scientists and Medical Laboratory Assistants. You will be assisting in the monitoring of Consultant and Laboratory email inboxes and clinics, answering phone calls, using the electronic staff record on a daily basis and supporting laboratory meetings and other administrative functions. This will require excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, and a confident and mature approach to work.
We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and well-motivated candidate with relevant experience. To be the successful candidate, as well as being friendly and reliable, you will need a flexible attitude towards work with good organisational skills, self-motivation, attention to detail and good interpersonal skills. You must have the ability to work under pressure and work well within a team. It is essential that applicants are able to demonstrate strong IT skills, which must include knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Experience of using Epic EPR, Health roster, ESR and Medirota would be an advantage.
37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am‑5pm. Full or part-time working will be considered.

This is a fixed term contract until 09/01/28. For current NHS employees this post could be a secondment opportunity.
