Qualifications

• Built a bioinformatics tool, method, or software package that others can use (published, open-sourced, or demonstrable).
• Experience with large-scale microbial or metagenomic data.
• Strong programming skills (Python, R, or similar) oriented toward building software, not just analysis scripts.
• Comfortable with messy, real-world biological data requiring new approaches.

Responsibilities

• Develop new methods and tools to make sense of large microbial/metagenomic data.
• Build and publish tools, and directly shape analysis of a vast biodiversity dataset.
• Publish results and contribute to advancing frontier biology.
