Job summary

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a proactive Team Lead for the Mental Health Support Teams (MHST) to steer early intervention and child-focused mental health support within educational settings.

The role requires strong leadership, safeguarding expertise and the ability to work closely with schools, families and partner agencies to improve pathways and outcomes for children and young people across Dorset.

Qualifications

• Experience of managing and developing staff within children's services.
• Ability to assess and manage risk with safeguarding embedded into practice.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with schools, families and partners.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day clinical, operational and professional leadership for the MHST.
• Lead, supervise and develop practitioners to deliver high-quality, timely care.
• Strengthen pathways and promote whole-school approaches to emotional health and wellbeing.
• Deputise for the Clinical Lead and drive service improvement across Dorset.
