Dorset Mental Health Support Teams in Schools (MHSTs) are seeking a Senior Clinical Supervisor to join our service. You will lead, supervise and develop Supervisors and Senior Wellbeing Practitioners, while maintaining a small clinical caseload delivering specialist interventions to children and families with complex mental health needs.

Job description

Dorset Mental Health Support Teams in Schools (MHSTs) are looking for an exceptional Senior Clinical Supervisors to join the service.

This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced clinician who thrives on collaboration, professional development and service improvement. Working as one of four Senior Clinical Supervisors, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening supervisory practice, ensuring children, young people and families receive high-quality, evidence-based and compassionate support.

You will provide expert clinical supervision, consultation and leadership to Supervisors and Senior Wellbeing Practitioners, promoting reflective practice, professional curiosity and confident decision-making. Alongside your supervisory role, you will maintain a small clinical caseload, delivering specialist interventions to children, young people and families with more complex mental health needs.

This role is ideal for an innovative and motivated professional who is committed to trauma-informed, attachment-aware and child-centred practice and who is passionate about developing the practice of others.

You will provide expert clinical supervision, consultation and leadership to Supervisors and Senior Wellbeing Practitioners across Dorset MHSTs, promoting high-quality, evidence-based and child-centred practice. Through coaching, mentoring and reflective supervision, you will support colleagues to confidently manage clinical complexity, safeguarding concerns, risk and multi-agency working.

Alongside a small clinical caseload, you will deliver specialist assessments and evidence-based interventions for children, young people and families with more complex mental health needs. You will work collaboratively with schools, families and partner agencies to improve outcomes and ensure support is responsive and effective.

As a senior member of the service, you will contribute to quality improvement, service development and clinical governance activities, using research, outcome data and innovation to strengthen practice. You will be a positive role model, helping to develop a skilled, confident workforce and promoting a culture of learning, collaboration and continuous improvement.
