Job Responsibilities
- Effectively leading the site Health & Safety culture.
- Completing / supporting site inductions of MHE / Manual Handling.
- Supporting the Risk Assessment (RA) / Safe Working Practices (SWP) completion with the nominated person(s).
- Providing a consistently high level of technical skills training to support the operations area through various delivery methods.
- Working as part of a close team ensuring all training is completed and recorded in line with company policy.
- Developing a site skills matrix for all MHE training and ensuring refresher training is completed within specified time frames.
- Managing the number of MHE operators to minimize skill fade and risks from inexperienced and infrequent users.
- Ensuring ongoing competence of all MHE operators through refresher training, workplace assessments, and additional training following unsafe practices or incidents.
- Assisting in investigating on-site and MHE-related incidents/accidents.
- Maintaining a proactive approach to reduce risks from MHE operations and developing learning from experience briefings.
- Creating Safe System of Works and conducting risk assessments for MHE activities.
- Identifying hazards and implementing control measures to mitigate risks, ensuring training is provided to relevant staff.
- Reviewing safety audit GAP analysis with site management to ensure completion of all areas.
- Liaising with operational management to cover all site training requirements across shifts.
- Participating as part of the Site MHE instructor team to ensure training is completed and recorded per company policy.
- Contributing as an active member of the wider management team, offering suggestions to improve site safety.
- Compiling data for KPI and Monthly Reports for management review.
Qualifications
- ITSAR or RTITB Instructor qualification.
- Experience with Reach, Counterbalance, VNA, Pivot Steer (Bendi), and/or PPT.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work different shifts for training coverage.
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
