Job summary

AFI in Caldicot is recruiting a MEWPS Engineer to perform PDIs, services, LOLER inspections and repairs on a fleet of rental machines. You will respond to breakdowns on customer sites and record checks on a PDA, coordinating with the engineering team to maximise machine availability.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering qualification (NVQ2+), is proficient with electro/hydraulic systems and diagnostics, and communicates professionally with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) – minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Able to work with electro/hydraulic systems and perform fault-finding/diagnostics.
• Professional communication with customers and colleagues; prioritize tasks in a changing hire environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out pre-delivery inspections, services, LOLER inspections, repairs and manufacturer updates.
• Attend breakdowns on customer sites and maintain machine availability.
• Record checks on a PDA following company procedure.
• Communicate with engineering team and hire office to ensure depot machine availability.
