Job summary

AFI is seeking a MEWPS Engineer in Wakefield to carry out PDIs, services, LOLER inspections, repairs and manufacturer updates, while maintaining our fleet image.

You will attend breakdowns on customer sites and record checks using a PDA, following procedures. The role requires an engineering qualification (NVQ2+), electro/hydraulic know-how, fault-finding skills, and professional communication with customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance)
• Minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent
• Competence in electro/hydraulic systems
• Experience in fault-finding/diagnostics
• Professional communication with customers and colleagues
• Ability to prioritise tasks in a demanding hire environment
• IPAF Operator licence/certification is required
• CAP licence would be desirable

Responsibilities

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and updates, maintaining fleet image
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites
• Accurately recording checks using a PDA, following company procedures
• Communicating with engineering team and hire office to maximise machine availability
