Job summary

SER Limited is recruiting a Powered Access Engineer in the United Kingdom. The role is primarily workshop-based in Kettering, with a salary up to £40,000 DOE.

You will inspect, service, maintain and commission MEWPs, including scissor lifts, booms and verticals, ensuring safety, reliability and high equipment availability. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic background, full UK driving licence, and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

• NVQ in Engineering or equivalent
• Thorough Examination Certificate
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
• Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems knowledge
• Excellent attention to detail and methodical approach
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work to deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship
• Flexible, team-focused attitude and willingness to support colleagues
• Full UK driving licence
• IPAF and CAP qualifications desirable

Responsibilities

• Carry out PDIs, off-hire inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance on powered access equipment.
• Complete LOLER inspections, thorough examinations and commissioning activities.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Use diagnostic equipment, schematics and service manuals to identify faults.
• Identify and order parts to complete repairs efficiently.
• Complete service reports and digital documentation accurately.
• Communicate with colleagues regarding machine condition and schedules.
• Provide technical advice and support to colleagues and customers.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Represent the business professionally with high workmanship and customer service.
