The Metrology Engineer is responsible for maintaining effective operation, development and continuous improvement of the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and Blue Light Technology systems (GOM) and their outputs. The engineer is also responsible for team technical support and identification of new technologies to further enhance capacity, efficiency and output. The role includes active participation in, and leadership of, dimensional reviews and guidance, New Product Introduction (NPI) & Launch metrology support and general business metrology continuous improvement activities. Following the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle and formal problem solving and Quality Engineering disciplines, this role will include the statistical analysis of data utilising the advanced functions of Excel, and statistical software (SPC) to drive tooling and process capability development.
