Job summary

Asper Recruitment is helping a Dundee-based architectural metalwork and specialist steel fabrication client find a Contracts Manager with a proven track record in managing high-value projects. You will own the full contract lifecycle from pre-start to handover, coordinating design, production planning and field teams across the UK.

Demanding roles require strong knowledge of stainless, mild steel and aluminium fabrication, plus experience with JCT/NEC contracts and margin protection.

Qualifications

• Proven track record as Contracts Manager / Senior PM in metalwork or structural fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium, bronze and brass fabrication & finishing.
• Commercially astute with experience of JCT, NEC contracts, variations and CVRs.
• CSCS Black Card and SMSTS/IOSH preferred or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Own full contract lifecycle from pre-start to final handover.
• Manage budgets, variations, valuations and margin protection.
• Coordinate in-house design/CAD and workshops, plus production planning.
• Lead site teams and sub-contractors including HSEQ, RAMS and QA.
• Liaise with Tier 1 contractors across the UK.

CONTRACTS MANAGER REQUIRED

My client is a leading architectural metalwork & specialist steel fabrication company based in Dundee, serving the Construction sectors across the UK.

Due to continued growth with projects in Scotland and England we are now seeking a highly skilled Contracts Manager.

The Role:

You will take full commercial and operational ownership of multiple high-value projects from order to final handover.

Manage full contract lifecycle: pre-start, programme, procurement, production planning, site installation, commercial close-out Liaise directly with Tier 1 Main Contractors: Kier, Balfour Beatty & Robertsons Construction etc Manage budgets, variations, valuations, and ensure margin protection Coordinate in-house design/CAD, carbon workshop, clean stainless workshop, and profiles workshop Lead site teams and sub-contractors - HSEQ, RAMS, QA Client facing.

Required:

Proven track record as Contracts Manager / Senior Project Manager in architectural metalwork, structural steelwork, or bespoke stainless fabrication - ESSENTIAL Strong technical knowledge of stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium, bronze, brass fabrication & finishing - mill to mirror polish Commercially astute - able to manage JCT, NEC contracts, variations and CVRs Excellent leadership, client communication and problem-solving skills CSCS Black Card, SMSTS / IOSH preferred Based in / willing to relocate to Dundee / Central Scotland, travel UK-wide.
