Job summary

Intertek Group Plc is looking for a Laboratory Technologist to join their Metallurgical Assessment team. You'll play a key role in materials preparation, technical reporting, and supporting manufacturing quality control in a dynamic engineering environment.

The ideal candidate will have a degree or HND in Materials Science or Engineering and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Laboratory experience, particularly in metallurgy, and understanding Quality systems are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Degree or HND in materials/engineering field.
• Laboratory environment experience preferred.
• Good understanding of Quality systems and Audits.
• Knowledge of HSE standards is preferable.
• Experience in failure investigations is advantageous.
• Experience in supporting quality investigations.

Responsibilities

• Receive, collect and record items/samples for testing.
• Prepare samples and conduct assessments using optical microscopy.
• Manage personal workloads to meet KPI turnaround targets.
• Conduct quality control checks on microscope equipment.
• Interpret microstructures and identify material defects.
• Assist in developing and reviewing SOPs.
• Maintain equipment to high standards.
• Produce technical reports using Microsoft Office.
