Job summary

Reed Engineering & Manufacturing is seeking a Process Operative / FLT Driver to join a busy metals manufacturing operation in a safety-focused environment. The role involves material handling, stock movement, metal processing and dispatch tasks, all performed to written procedures and 5S standards.

You will load/unload with a counterbalance FLT, operate overhead cranes if needed, and complete required paperwork while maintaining high quality and timely outputs.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse/metals/manufacturing or distribution.
• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence.
• Experience loading and unloading vehicles.
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck.
• Safe operation of overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
• Completing all operational paperwork and pre-use inspections accurately.
• Processing materials to customer specifications.
• Packing and preparing finished metal products for dispatch.
• Following written procedures and work instructions.
• Maintaining high housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
• Ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily operational targets.
