Job summary

HP4 Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an experienced MET Technician to join a fast-paced workshop in Ilkeston. You will handle the mechanical, electrical, and trim aspects of accident repair, including strip, fit, diagnostics and rebuild work to restore vehicles to pre-accident condition.

The role offers uncapped bonus potential and a competitive salary of £45,000–£50,000 depending on experience and qualifications, with a late shift, Monday to Friday, 2pm–10pm.

Qualifications

• Extensive MET experience in accident repair and vehicle restoration.
• Skilled in strip, fit, diagnostics and rebuild tasks.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and fault diagnosis.
• NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Carry out full MET stripping and refitting of vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults related to accident damage.
• Remove and refit components to support panel repairs and bodywork restoration.
• Complete vehicle diagnostics, fault finding, and system checks.
• Rebuild vehicles ensuring correct fitment and safety standards.
• Work closely with panel and paint technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
• Ensure all work meets manufacturer and bodyshop standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all repair work carried out.
