Job summary

Holt Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced MET Technician in Leicester to join a busy bodyshop group. You will carry out vehicle stripping and refitting, dismantling and rebuilding to repair specifications and perform alignment, GEO and suspension work.

The role offers up to £23 per hour plus bonus and a 40-hour Monday–Friday week. The successful candidate will have MET Technician experience (or related roles), a solid grasp of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems, and ideally hybrid

Qualifications

• Experience as MET Technician, Strip Fitter or Bodyshop Technician.
• Strong understanding of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with suspension, alignment, geometry and diagnostics.
• Hybrid vehicle training is desirable.
• ADAS accreditation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Carry out vehicle stripping and refitting to support high-quality accident repairs.
• Dismantle and rebuild vehicles according to repair specifications.
• Identify and report additional or unseen damage not in the original estimate.
• Perform four-wheel alignment, geometry (GEO) and suspension work.
• Carry out mechanical repairs, diagnostics and related work.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to required quality standards.

The Role – MET Technician

• Carrying out vehicle stripping and refitting to support high-quality accident repairs.
• Dismantling and rebuilding vehicles in line with repair specifications.
• Identifying and reporting any additional or unseen damage not included within the original estimate.
• Carrying out four-wheel alignment, geometry (GEO) and suspension work.
• Undertaking mechanical repairs, diagnostics and associated work.
• Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working as an MET Technician, Strip Fitter or Bodyshop Technician.
• A strong understanding of vehicle mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience with suspension, alignment, geometry and diagnostics.
• Hybrid vehicle training.
• ADAS accreditation.
• ATA or NVQ qualifications would be advantageous, although not essential.
