Job summary

Tru Talent is seeking a talented MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician to join a leading body shop in Reading. You will repair vehicles to factory specifications using modern equipment and techniques in a state-of-the-art facility.

Applicants should have an apprenticeship as a MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician with NVQ/ATA/IMI/SVQ qualification and proven experience in a busy body shop. Diagnostic training is a plus, and a strong team player with self-motivation to earn bonus hours is desirable.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a recognised apprenticeship as MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician and hold a technical qualification (NVQ/ATA/IMI/SVQ).
• Previous experience as MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter in a busy body shop and a strong team player with self-motivation to earn bonus hours.
• Experience with geometry work and 4 wheel alignment.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques and high standards.
• Diagnostic training would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced accident repair centre.
• Follow repair techniques and produce work to factory specs and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct detailed inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Repair or replace damaged mechanical, electrical, and trim components.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as needed.
• Use diagnostic equipment to identify and fix issues.
• Perform quality checks to ensure repairs meet industry standards.
• Collaborate with teammates to ensure efficient workflow.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and standards.

Basic Salary: Up to £54,000 + Time Saved Bonus

Hours: Monday to Friday / 45h week

MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician to join this leading team. You will be repairing damaged vehicles in line with the manufacturers' specifications within a state of the art body shop, utilising modern equipment and techniques.

Qualifications required for an MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician

• Will have served a recognised apprenticeship as a MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician and gained a technical qualification (such as NVQ / ATA /IMI/ SVQ)
• Must have previous experience working as a MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter within a busy body shop and be a strong team player with a self-motivation to earn bonus hours
• Have experience with Geometry work and 4 wheel Alignment
• Will work to the highest standard and demonstrate a sound up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques
• Diagnostic training
